turkey is the only moslem country who has changed the calender and the rest day from friday to sunday in order to facilitate her relations with the christian europe more than eighty years ago. turkey has strict laws for dressing in western style. again it is also unique as a moslem country who has accepted latin alphabet during that time. unfortunately this measure did not help to eradicate illiteracy. i hope these informations may help some people to understand the commitment of turkey who wishes to set up european civilisation and life style. obviously these strategical kind of knowledges have not been presented to the attention of chancellor angela merkel properly. however her pose to the press photographers with a turkish bagel in istanbul was lovely anyway!
